Cookies Policy

Our website ("Site") uses cookies. Some are essential for the performance and security of our Site and others help improve the user experience.

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small file of letters and numbers that websites put on your device. The cookie then sends information back to the originating website on each subsequent visit, or to another website that recognizes that cookie. Cookies are useful because they allow a website to recognize a user’s device. You can find more information about cookies at: www.allaboutcookies.org and www.youronlinechoices.eu.

Cookies do lots of different jobs, like letting you navigate between pages efficiently, remembering your preferences, and generally improving the user experience.

A cookie in no way gives us access to other content on your device or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share with us.  Please see our Privacy Policy for information about how SPTS collects and uses your personal data

How you can manage cookies

When you visit our Site for the first time you will be given the option to either accept or manage your cookie settings.

You also have the option to refuse cookies using your internet browsers settings. Most internet browsers (such as Chrome, Internet Explorer, Edge, Firefox, etc.) allow you to have control over the acceptance and storage of cookies on your device. You can block cookies via the settings of your browser. This way you can deny all or some cookies and also withdraw from prior consent for using cookies. However, if you do so and block all or some cookies, you may not be able to access all or part of our Site or its content or experience our Site in full.

What cookies does SPTS use and why?

Essential Cookies

These are cookies that are strictly necessary for the functioning of the Site or for performing services that an individual user has requested. Some examples of functions performed by essential cookies are cookies that remember previous actions (e.g., entered text) when navigating back to a page in the same session.

Analytical cookies

These cookies collect information about how visitors use a website, for instance which pages visitors go to most often, and if they get error messages from web pages. Analytical cookies don’t collect information that identifies a visitor. All information that analytical cookies collect is aggregated and therefore anonymous. These cookies are used only to improve how a website functions.

Many websites use targeting/advertising cookies; our Site does not.

Cookies can also be categorized by how long they remain on your device. There are two broad categories of duration:

  1. Persistent cookies

Persistent cookies remain on your device until deleted manually or automatically.

  1. Session cookies

Session cookies remain on your device until you close your browser when they are automatically deleted.

We use both persistent and session cookies. The persistent cookies remain active for up to 26 months.

Finally, cookies are either first-party or third-party cookies:

  1. First-Party Cookies

First-party cookies are placed by the Site operator. For example, first-party cookies on our Site are cookies placed by SPTS.

  1. Third-Party Cookies

Third-party cookies are cookies placed by a third party. For example, we use a third-party service provider called Google Analytics to analyze how users use our Site. Google Analytics collects de-identified information about usage, such as how long users stop on a web page and route they took through the Site. Google Analytics places cookies to collect this usage information.

SPTS uses both first-party and third-party cookies on our Site.

Web Beacons

SPTS includes small graphic images or other web programming code, called web beacons (also known as “pixel tags,” “web bugs” or “clear GIFs”) on the Site. The web beacons are minute graphics with a unique identifier. They are used to track the online movements on Web users. In contrast to cookies, which are stored on a user’s device, web beacons are embedded invisibly on Web pages and are about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. Web beacons may work with cookies to collect information about users’ movements from web page to web page.

Information collected

Our cookies collect several types of information, including information about your usage of our Site, device identifier, screen resolution, browser identifier, city, state, region, language, service provider, link from which a user comes to the Site, links on the Site, Site pages visited, and length of time on a Site page, and your IP address. An IP address is the number assigned to your device, for example your laptop or mobile phone, when your device accesses the internet. Your device may have a static IP address, which means that your device always has the same IP address or it may have a dynamic IP address, which means that the IP address changes each time the device accesses the internet.

SPTS does not link the information collected through cookies with individually identifiable information (personal data) collected through the Site, for example, if you enter your name into a form on the Site. To the extent information collected through cookies is individually identifiable, we treat it as personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
